Many of the projects we have worked on are development led such as Environmental Impact Assessments and Appropriate Assessments of plans and projects. We have provided ecological advise to clients in the following sectors: infrastructural developments; renewable energy (particular wind farm) projects; and residential and mixed use developments.
We have also worked on a number of nature conservation projects on behalf of the public sector (local authorities and government departments) and local community groups. Examples of these projects include: the preparation of conservation management plans for sites of biodiversity importance; undertaking county wetland surveys to identify sites of ecological value; and invasive alien species surveys.

|2011-12||An avifaunal assessment of the proposed location of a water ecopark at Garryhinch Bog, County Laois / Offaly.On-going year round bird surveys of extensive (900 ha) cutover bog. Methods include VP and line transects covering range of habitats on site.|
|2009-12||Monitoring bird populations of County Mayo wind farm site.On-going year round bird surveys of Carrowleagh wind farm site, Co Mayo (under construction). Methods include VP and line transects of study area.|
|2009-12||Monitoring bird populations of County Sligo wind farm site.On-going year round bird surveys of Lackan wind farm site, Co Sligo (operational). Methods include VP and line transects with particular emphasis on coastal waders and wildfowl.|
|2010–12||Project ecologist on 110 kV power line from Clashavoon to Dunmanway, County Cork.Undertook the Ecological Impact Assessment of this scheme which included both the Ecology chapter of the Environmental Report and a Natura Impact Statement. Targeted bird surveys were required to assess potential impact on the Gearagh SPA and associated waterbirds, Whooper Swans in particular.|
|2010–12||Project ecologist on Laois Kilkenny reinforcement project.Responsible for the Ecological Impact Assessment of this scheme which includes both the Ecology chapter of the Environmental Report and a Natura Impact Statement. Targeted bird surveys were required to assess potential impact on wintering birds within the study area.|
|2010-12||North – South Interconnector: project ecologist on 400 kV overhead line from Mohill to Border (Lemgare) (Part B).Responsible for undertaking the Ecological Impact Assessment of the northern part of this scheme.|
|2009-12||Breeding Hen Harrier surveys of wind farm sites in North Kerry / South Limerick.Undertook VP surveys of breeding hen harrier at three proposed wind farm sites in Counties Kerry and Limerick.|
|2009-11||Appropriate Assessment Screening of two residential developments near Bunmahon (Ballydowane and Ballinarrid), Co Waterford.Compiled screening reports assessing potential impact on nearby Mid-Waterford Coast SPA.|
